Sule Lamido Varsity Receives Book Donations from the US.

The Sule Lamido University (SLU) Kafin Hausa, has received donations of books and audio CDs of various titles worth S32,950.00 equivalent to Nineteen Million, One Hundred, and Eleven Thousand naira (N19,111,000.00) only from Bridge Publications, United States of America.

This was disclosed by the University Librarian, Dr. Abdulkadir Idris Ahmed during a Handover Ceremony of the books today, Tuesday 8th February 2022.

In his Handover Speech, the Director of Information and Communications Technology Directorate who facilitated the donation to the University, Professor Nasir Faruk, disclosed that a total of 338 copies of books and 219 Audio CDs were donated by the American Company.

According to Prof. Faruk, titles such as Dianetics, Science of Survival, Self-Analysis, the Problem of Work, Education, Literacy, and Civilization were among the books donated. Others include Letters and Journals, Poet/Lyricist, Study and Education, Differences between Scientology and other Philosophies, and History of Research and Investigation. Professor Faruk further restated his commitment to do more in the search for donations and interventions for the University.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lawan Sani Taura, MNAMP appreciates Bridge Publications for considering the University worthy of such an important gesture and commended the Director ICT for securing the information materials from the American Company.

According to the VC, the donation came at the right time as the University is looking forward to the Resource Verification Visit and Accreditation of Thirteen Programmes offered in the University by the National Universities Commission (NUC) this year.
