Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, have set a new method for writing the Computer Based (CBT) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, who made this known after a retreat in Kaduna, said that the new method is an eight-key system.
He said that from the general feedback on the adoption of the Computer Based Test mode, the board has noted the challenge of computer low level literacy of some candidates, especially with the phobia for the mouse.
Oloyede noted that this has been responsible partly for the call by some people for reversal to the Paper and Pencil Test mode.
In order to ensure equity and level playground for all candidates taking the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, the Board has designed a system that will allow candidates use only eight (8) keys without the use of the mouse.
All the candidates need to do is to press the letters A,B,C,D for responses (answer) to questions and keys: P = Previous question, N = Next question, S = Submit responses when candidate has finished examination and R = Reverse (do not intend to go further to submit again).
Is optional, can u use mouse if you want!
Yes. You can.
Abeg oga Registrar you will not kill us with your troubles, anyways the children of will still survive.
the 8_key idea is good, but S for submit shouldn’t have been included… because ‘A’ ‘S’ & ‘D’ are together, one might try to press either ‘A’ or ‘D’ and mistakenly hit ‘S’… which means he/she have come to the end of the exam… (which is not to be recommended)!!!
When you press ‘S’ to submit the system will ask you whether you really want to submit
May God help us.
The shouldn’t confuse us ohh! With too much changes
