    • Reply Chinedu September 12, 2013 at 8:38 am

Yes i have an idea! Ur transcript wasnt processed! Sorry bro!

    • Reply busuyem September 12, 2013 at 8:41 am

@Collins. What did u apply 4 and what course did u study in ur first degree?

    • Reply Ete 'Tuk September 12, 2013 at 9:48 am

@COLLINS: some of us whose transcripts were not processed went to check. I did and believe it or not, my file which was tagged with “NO TRANSCRIPT” was changed. I’m sure i woulda been as confused as u. Please learn from this experience. If u’l apply at UNN next year, just follow up on ur application. If at any other school, pls dont leave anything to chance. Whatever the case, pls pursue a post graduate degree. Dnt give up.

  • Reply Collins September 12, 2013 at 8:42 am

I too am finding it hard to believe…. 63.64 was my exact score

  • Reply collins September 12, 2013 at 8:54 am

Y won’t dey process d transcript? How can I b invited 4 d exams and my transcript can’t b processed…. Everything was in a big brown envelope… @busuyem d same course I did my first degree on Pharm & Toxic

    • Reply busuyem September 12, 2013 at 9:39 am

It can’t be transcript problem because if it was, they wouldn’t invite u 4 the screening exam. Since u applied 4 the same course u studied in first degree, I think there’s a mistake on their part. Try and send message to their mail or go to the schl to remedy the anomally. It’s well with u my brother.

  • Reply Ducci September 12, 2013 at 9:52 am

I hope the 12 or 18 months remains so. Just pray it doesn’t stretch into 3yrs.

  • Reply Ete 'Tuk September 12, 2013 at 9:54 am

@BUSUYEM: chinedu may be right. I went to follow up on my application on June 26 and found dat my file was tagged “NO TRANSCRIPT”. Funny enough the lady that receives all transcripts on behalf of d SPGS was just 3 tables/desks away. It was found dat i didnt attach the TRANSCRIPT LABEL to my transcript. Many other transcripts were there. It could be transcript issue.

    • Reply busuyem September 12, 2013 at 10:53 am

It could be so. It’s well.

May I say this, those of you who met the criteria( Gabriel&Collins) and still didnt find your names on the admission list should go and take it up with your depts or postgrad school. You guys’ names might have been skipped or something. Ya, it may be as simple as that. So dont let it go just like that- that’s if you’re still interested in the admission though. Just saying.

I knw nobody in unn. I didnt meet anybody i didnt folo up anytin. I didnt even pray to get admission, God for giv me , yet i made d list. I tink for those that score well bt didnt see their names, it could b bcos of d following reasons 1 may b ur class of degree is too low. I mean d GP. Especially those wth less than 3 points, 2 may b ur transcript was nt found in ur file. 3 may b there is a mistake in ur documentations. May b d forms were nt properly filled. 4 random variables otherwise called stockastic storm may b another reason why d name wasnt found in d admission list. Random variables include other factors that we cannot account for. I will like to say dis , for those that secured d admission congrats. For those whose name was’nt on d list , dont b demoralised, those that secured d admission re nt in anyway better than u. Just push ahead for God knws why.

I still recollect vividly some time ago when @ Ete Tuk, @ RichDad and others quoted” It is not by scoring high in PG Screening test that matters alone, lots of other factors come to play. All factors depends on God!

I scored 27.27 in d test, no NYSC discharge ( because I still dey serve naija), knew no one in UNN, though I had a 2.1 at 1st degree, YET I found my name in list.

I had no inkling that UNN will need my fees this session, but God has always been there. Friends, commit ur ways unto God, and He’ll direct your paths.

      God bless us all.

Someone should ask Dr. Iyare (then HOD , Human Physiology) what happened to my name. I scored 55.45, Did PGD (Human Physiology ) and graduated with CGPA of 3.95 on 5 point scale. Got Upper credit in HND (Physiology/Pharmacology option of SLT UNN) in conjunction with NISLT. Yet, he remove my name and Agbaroka Samuel’s name and replaced it with Miss Obimma Vincent Nkechi that scored 24.45 ,etc. Tell him that God is watching him.He can’t even stop me from forging ahead. This is a true indication that they just swindled us in some departments. One of them told me that she runs her admission. Call me on 08034607689 .If what they did is good, let God pay them with their Own coin. Whatever, u sow , u must reap.

I still don’t understand why someone that scored 50% or above 30% were not admitted. It may be due to high population in the desired departments anyway but I think they should be considered as well, come what may. I applied without NYSC cert bcos I was still serving then, scored 54.55 in the test, had a 2-1 in Maths Edu in first degree and got admitted 4 Msc Maths now, graduated frm UNN though. I don’t say I merit it but I’m still saying God favoured me. I’m sure God has a better plan 4 u though u may not knw now. Time will tell in ur life. Bless u all.

Hostel accomodation can only be secured or done with ur school fees receipt. Without it nothing is done! And there are lots of benefits dat goes with UNN PG hostel…its only ONE building of 4 story. There r free internet browsing 24/7(i can bet u on dat),full security, light(generator from 7pm-10pm if therez no light),water.PGs are treated far more different to undergraduates, 3 in a room(spacious)! Rooms are limited, its on first come first serve basis…d earlier u get done with ur payments,d better. Off-campus in Nsukka is never expensive…4rm 15k u have a room for a session. But incomparable to Hostel accomodation…lacks many things dat can help aid ur study!

When i said things are happening in UNN PG school, some think am nt right! So sorry my bro dat u fell victim. I advice, u take it with fate…cos the list dat came out, when u closely look at the heading reads ” Primary and supplementary list”! Some people dat scored even below 20% but went ahead to make the list dont know the reason why….the list is a combination of both Primary and supplementary! My brother, it will ONLY take the grace of God, the VC or the president for UNN to release another name or attach another name ‘officially’, to the already publishd names(the truth is hard, but must be told)! Am an alumni, i know what UNN is capable of! Just accept it with fate since u hv been to ur department in UNN and nothing was done! There must be a reason for ur omission n its only ur HOD dat has an answer to dat, but for him to alter an already publishd list….i doubt d possibility!

@ Omotunde, God in heaven must have every reason to bless you in abundant. Dey have confirmed my transcript in their office ds morning (23/9/2013) and my application file have gotten to them and I was told that I have passed the stage. One thing that is left is divine intevention ( God’s grace) as the battle is not to the strong and it’s not of he that willeth nor runneth but of God that showeth mercy. All hope is not lost. I will still advice those who thought within their minds that they were supposed to be admitted and were not to summon courage and find out the cause…. R’mber, the staff there were employed to serve you but just be polite in expressing ur grieviances. For more enquiry here is my BB PIN : 226D36D1

I did that and God is on top of my case. The staff there may not be the cause but you or as the case may be. They are really working on the errors to ensuring that they are corrected. I went and I am smiling already. Call me on 08034607689 or 226D36D1 for details. As for the registration, just budget the sum of N75,000 for everything with the exception of your accommodation. Registration will start as soon as ASUU strike is over. Cheers !

@Busuyem, a step of the procedure is obviously missing in their release, but I think anytime from 26th of this month we can proceed to d postgraduate schl with our original credentials for verification( and perhaps Admission Notification Slip). Just go to their home page, its still right there for download, and you’l see the details and signs of the omission I’m talking about. Plzz get back to us when you check it up yourself.

5 standard rooms, new rooms, tiled, in a good environs @ cheap prices.

The ist two rooms in a particulat building are self contain rooms with tiled kitchen, toilet, sinks in kitchen, water running inside the toilet and kitchen, painted, burglary proofs(protectors) at the door and windows is #145,000. Big Car park in the compound, cleaners etc. U will use prepaid meters, so u pay ur nepa bills yourself.
The last 3 rooms are in another building, new rooms, tiled, burglary at the windows, painted, iron doors, water, but a central kitchen, no nepa bills, good compound, steady electricity(almost 24/7),rooms are big, well ventilated, tiled toilets with new facilities for just #150000.

All these rooms are in buildings that are #20 from school gate. They are close(trekkable distance) to banks, shopping complex, church(es), market and major bus stops.
These are one of the finest accomodations around UNEC, that are not in a dirty or old environs but are cheap.

There’s this other accomodation, its a new building, the rooms are not tiled, but are ok. Self contain, kitchen and toilets are tiled, painted, neat environs within the building, also #20 distance from the market, trekkable distance from the gate. No nepa bills, water runs inside toilets and bathroom. It goes for #155k.

To make reservations, I’ll advice you to contact me via 08150745547.
Do not wait till you resume to look for accomodations, just make your reservations and bookings now as I am sure that tby the time we resume, PG hall will not accomodate all PG students and the few accomodations available would have been occupied.
N.B: All these accomodations are for students who are admitted to programmes within UNEC. University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus.

The no to call remains 08150745547.
    Thanks.

Wilson, your post is unintelligible and total gibberish. Why can’t you just take a few minutes to compose your sentences properly so that they can be understood by your readers? Next time, please show some respect to your readers by putting some miniscule effort into what you are writing and presenting to us, so that we may equally reciprocate the respect to you. I do not mean to insult you, but it was just too annoying attempting to make sense out of the nonsense you posted above, (and without success I might add because I still do not understand what the FCUK you are talking about in your post). Actually it is clearly scandalous and an outrage that an intending POST GRADUATE student, such as yourself, would (no matter the circumstances) post such nonsensical gibberish as you posted above. It is shameful and appalling. Please show us some respect here. Be intelligible when you write to us. Is that asking for too much? Thank you for understanding.

If you cant get the scratch card in your area or through a friend at Nsukka, just wait until school resumes.

When I say application, I mean those that passed the screening but had their names omitted either cos of one reason or the other. As we took the bold step to finding out the reason behind the omission and all necessary recognition has been given to many of us ranging from the clearance/endoresement @ both the departmental and faculty level. God is @ work. All our labours and. Success shall not be in vain. Thank you Jesus cos I believe senate must endorse it and our names published finally in Jesus wonderful name I pray. ASUU STRIKE UPDATE: FG, ASUU Reach Agreement Over Strike
The Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities have reached an agreement to end the over five month old strike by ASUU. The lecturer’s association has however said that its members may return to work next week.

The Supervising Minister of Education, Mr. Nyesom Wike told journalists at a meeting with the leadership of ASUU, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Universities Commission and five vice- chancellors of universities that all contending issues between the parties have been resolved.

The parties signed a document to seal the agreement which spells great hope that the over five-month old strike may be called off within one week, although the president of ASUU, Professor Nasir Faggae declined to say what was contained in the document.

ASUU’s demands include the upward review of the retirement age for professors from 65 to 70; adequate funding to revitalise the university system; progressive increase of budgetary allocations to the education sector by 26 per cent; transfer of federal government property to universities; setting up of research and development units by companies; payment of earned allowances; and renegotiation of the signed agreement.

The agreement between the two is reached barely 24 hours after the Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe presented a proof of payment of N200 billion into an account with the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The strike began on July 1st 2013 and lasted for over five months before this resolution was reached.

    • Reply Andytonia December 17, 2013 at 8:03 am

U don’t have to quit either. sacrifice 2 months salary to defer de admission or forfelt de admission. if it is a private org i will suggest u quit but govt jobs has career prospects.

Get to de PG school, lodge ur complaint dey will direct u on how to go about it. Remember, it is after two yrs or so on job b4 u can be granted study leave in de case of govt jobs except u find way(s) of working it out.

  • Reply Omotunde December 14, 2013 at 10:15 pm

@Busuyem. I tink it will depend on d value u attach to both. If u value the masters programme, that is, obtaing a higher degree to working for forty k, u can opt for the msc. But if d wrk is more important than d msc to u , then u can go for d wrk. But my own advice is that u shld come for ur msc, there re and there will b better opportunity for u. Forfeiting an msc programme for a forty k job that doesnt guarantee a gud career does nt worth it. If u can afford d programme just come for it. Its once in a life time. After ur course wrk u can take up watever job in watever state. Atleast then u will only b comig to unn once in a while to submit ur thesis.

  • Reply Ete 'Tuk December 15, 2013 at 1:55 pm

Busuyem, I’m totally with Omotunde on this one. I left my job for a pgd (not msc) cos I know it’s long term benefits. either u forfeit Unn and apply at Benue state university next year and hold on to the job and a msc program IF YOU CAN’T AFFORD THE COST OF STUDY NOW , or u come for this particular one now and get an edge later.
    Goodluck

This is because the Admission Notification Page, Fees Payment page for 2013/14 session have not been uploaded @ the UNN Portal. Please, slow and steady wins the race.

    • Reply Concerned Citizen January 13, 2014 at 1:37 pm

@ Chioma.. U are truly right in what u just said. Our page Is not created or uploaded yet. Those that succeeded in the payment used that of 2012/13 session And they detected the error and reported to the PG Portal Admin that led to the prohibition of Access to the Postraduate Portal Login. We have to wait till they rectify the problem and get it uploaded.

Infact, the message I got this morning (13/01/14) from a reliable PG staff @ UNEC, instructed that Verification is to commence properly on 20th January and to last till february.

Beware of those that will tell you that they have gotten their Admission letter/Slip because they are there to deceive you to encounter the same error which they had. U must not go to UNN or UNEC to make your online payment. Just Visit any of the listed banks on e-Tranzact and Make your payment when u must have gotten your Payment reference Invoice. Thanks for your peaceful coexistence.

      • Reply Ete 'Tuk January 13, 2014 at 4:05 pm

@Chioma, when we chatted on whatsapp I told u that I had printed my payment invoice. the error u r currently experiencing might be due to the fact that u r either on part time or on among those whose names came out the very last supplementary list. approach the postgraduate school for guidance or simply wait for the error to be adjusted. I have printed my fees payment invoice which bears 2013-2014 – CONSOLIDATED SCHOOL FEES . and many others have the very same print. if u r experiencing errors pls approach the postgraduate school or simply wait it out.

@Chioma, go and check it again if you can. I printed mine on Saturday cos I knew that sometin like what was experienced today would happen.

@ Tatah.. Don’t worry urself. Those that can generate their Payment Reference Invoice now are only those that their names came out on the Primary List released on 11th Sept,2013. But for those on the supplementary (additional) Admission List released on 17th Dec,2013, the Post Graduate Portal Admin is working seriously to uploading yours. If you are @ Nsukka or Enugu for the payment and you wishes to travel, U can emback on your jouney and do the payment at the comfort of your home. U must not come to Nsukka or Enugu to generate your payment invoice. It’s done online anywhere in Nigeria @ any of the banks that has e-Tranzact Platform. @ Amara, u have tried but there are some other things u needs to do to print out your school fees receipt.
      1. with your payment confirmation slip which u were given at the bank after payment, U can now print out your original school fees receipt by logging into the portal again and follow the under-listed procedures
      a. http://www.unnportal.com
      b. Postgraduate student login
c.Enter ur 6-digits application number followed by ur Password ie pgunn.
      d. login and wait for the response
      e. click on Payments on top of the page followed by My fees
      f. It will now open your payment option such as 1. cash payment at the bank 2. verve 3. pocketmoney 4. masters card
g.if ur payment was via cash at the bank, enter ur confirmation order number followed by your invoice number and click on “Pay” below the page. it will confirm your payment.
      H. Then click on my receipt at the right hand side of the page and print it out.

      Congrats

    • Reply Concerned Citizen January 25, 2014 at 7:36 am

@ Nello.. I am deeply sorry for that. U have to try to relogin to enable you print out your receipt. But, if the system reads ” We just confirmed that you have paid your fees and you don’t need to pay again”, just relax and proceed for your registration. This signifies that your payment has been captured by the University.

I wish you goodluck in ur future endeavours.

N.B. Those @ UNEC could not do any verification till date cos the management insist that we must Print out our Particulars Of Admission and Course Registration online to avoid repeatition of the process. D/4, I still count that as an advantage for those of our colleagues who have not paid their fees .So, they should not lose hope in search of the money. Enjoy ( Concerned Citizen)

    • Reply Concerned Citizen January 30, 2014 at 6:46 am

@ Nelo, I guess/advice you to revisit the bank where u made ur payment to see if. U can regenrate ur invoice and proceed to PG school for your verification.

Moreso, u can see Dr (Mrs) Onah @ the UNN PG school and not UNEC. The Portal is controlled from Nsukka Campus and not Enugu. Or u send ur Pg Application number, Payment Confirmation Order Number and Invoice number to 08034607689 so that I can see to that.
