UNILAG Distance Learning Admission Form 2020/21 Session is Out

UNILAG DLI Admission Application Form for 2020/2021 Session Released.

The Unilag distance learning admission form is now out. The University of Lagos (UNILAG) Distance Learning Institute (DLI) is requesting applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following programmes which will be offered through Open and Distance Learning mode.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS.

The following candidates are eligible to apply:

  • Graduates of University of Lagos or any other University recognised by Senate with Degrees in relevant disciplines.
  • Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) or National Diploma (ND) or National Certificate in  Education (NCE) in the relevant disciplines.
  • Holders of recognised relevant full professional qualifications particularly ACA, ANAN, ACCA, ACMA, ACIA, ACIS, ACIB and CII may be considered for admission at enhanced level provided they have five credits at WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (‘O’ Level) or its equivalent, which must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics plus any other two (2) relevant subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
  • Holders of WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (‘O’ Level) or its equivalent with credit in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics plus any other three (3) relevant subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.

NOTE: (a) Point of entry for candidates in categories 2.1 to 2.3 will depend on details of their transcripts and such candidates must also satisfy the WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (‘O’ Level) or its equivalent as stated above.
(b) All academic transcripts for the candidates in categories 2.1 and 2.2 must reach the Institute Secretary, Distance Learning Institute, in sealed envelopes forwarded directly from the awarding Institution on or before the start of the session in which admission is being sought.

NEW ENHANCED ENTRY REQUIREMENTS.

    2 (a) Graduates of University of Lagos or any other University recognised by the Senate with a minimum of Pass in relevant disciplines such as Actuarial Science, Banking and Finance, Business Administration/Management, Economics, Financial Studies, Insurance Marketing and Taxation excluding holders of degrees in Accounting subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.   (b) ICAN Accounting Technician Scheme (ATS III) subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.   (c) National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Lower credit in Accounting, Actuarial Science, Banking and Finance, Business Administration/Management, Economics, Insurance, Taxation, Financial Studies and Marketing subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.   (d) National Certificate in Education (NCE) in Accounting Education and Financial Education subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.   (e) GCE ‘A’ Level with credit grades in Economics and other two (2) relevant subjects such as Accounting, Business Management, Geography and Government subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.   (f) The JUPEB certificate with appropriate credit points in Economics and other two (2) relevant subjects such as Accounting, Business Management, Geography and Government subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

5 B.Sc. Education Biology 1 WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with credits in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and either of Physics or Agricultural Science, Integrated Science and Fisheries/Animal Husbandry at not more than two (2) sittings.
    2 (a)Graduates of University of Lagos or any other University recognised by the Senate with a minimum of Pass in relevant disciplines excluding holders of degrees in Biology subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.   (b) The National Certificate of Education (NCE) with at least merit grades in Biology and other science subjects, subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.   (c) The National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in relevant fields subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.   (d) GCE ‘A ‘Level with at least Credit grades in two (2) relevant subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science etc. Subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.   (e) The Joint University Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) certificate with at least credit grades in Biology, Chemistry and Physics subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

6 B.Sc. Education Business Studies 1 WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with credits in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two (2) subjects from Arts or Social Sciences, Data Processing/Office Practice, Financial Accounting at not more than two (2) sittings.
  2 (a)Graduates of University of Lagos or any other University recognised by the Senate with a minimum of Pass in relevant disciplines excluding holders of degrees in Education Business subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.   (b) The National Certificate of Education (NCE) with at least merit level pass in Business Education (Double Major), Merit passes in two relevant subjects such as Financial Accounting, Office Management, subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.   (c) The National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in relevant fields subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.   (d) GCE ‘A ‘Level with at least Credit grades in two (2) relevant subjects subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.   (e) The Joint University Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) certificate with at least Credit grades in three (3) subjects including Economics and any two (2) of Accounting, Geography, Government, Business Management, subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

10 B.Sc. Education Economics 1 WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with credits in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two (2) of Geography, History/Government, Literature-in-English, Financial accounting and Civic Education/Social Studies at not more than two (2) sittings.
11 B.Sc. Education Mathematics 1 WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with credits five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any two (2) of Chemistry or Biology, Agricultural Science or Further Mathematics and Computer Studies/Data Processing at not more than two (2) sittings
2 (a)  Graduates of University of Lagos or any other University recognised by the Senate with a minimum of Pass in relevant disciplines excluding holders of degrees in Mathematics subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.   (b) The National Certificate of Education (NCE) with at least Merit grades in Mathematics and one (1) other Science subject, subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.   (c) The National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in relevant fields subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.    (d) GCE A ‘Level with at least Credit grades in two (2) relevant subjects such as Mathematics, Physics etc. subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.   (e) The Joint University Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) certificate with at least Credit grades in three (3) relevant subjects in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

12 B.Sc. Education Physics 1 WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with credits in five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any one (1) of Biology, Further Mathematics, Integrated Science, Computer Science/Data Processing or Agricultural Science at not more than two (2) sittings.
2 (a) Graduates of University of Lagos or any other University recognised by the Senate with a minimum of Pass in relevant disciplines excluding holders of degrees in Physics subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.   (b) The National Certificate of Education (NCE) with at least Merit grades in Physics and one (1) of Biology, Mathematics and Chemistry subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.   (c) The National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in relevant disciplines subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.   (d) GCE ’A ‘Level with at least Credit grades in and Physics and Mathematics, subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.   (e) The Joint University Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) certificate with at least Credit grades in three (3) subjects: Physics, Chemistry and any one (1) of Biology or Mathematics subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.
3 (a) Graduates of University of Lagos or any other University recognised by the Senate with honours degrees in relevant disciplines excluding holders of degrees in Physics subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.   (b) Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Lower credit in relevant disciplines subject to satisfaction of ‘O’ Level requirements.

GENERAL INFORMATION: Applicants for Distance Learning Institute programme shall not be less than 16 years of age by 31st October, 2021. Offer of admission into programmes listed above is subject to available number of qualified applicants.
On-line Print out ‘O’ Level Results Slips are NOT ACCEPTABLE at the point of Registration.
Candidates awaiting results are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply. Certificates and not Statement of Result Slips are acceptable for WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO results obtained before 2018.

METHOD OF APPLICATION.

  1. Long on to JAMB CAP Website and Register (Part-Time) and pay a sum of #3,500 to enable you to obtain a registration number
  2. Then log on to the UNILAG application portal http://applications.unilag.edu.ng
  3. Click “Start Fresh Application”
  4. Select Distance Learning Institute as application type, then supply your Surname, First Name, Middle Name, JAMB Registration Number, Mobile Number, and Email Address.
  5. Click the ‘’pay now’’ to pay online, the Application Fee of N17,500.00 (Seventeen Thousand, Five Hundred Naira) only, OR print the payment advice with Remita Number to make payment at any Commercial Bank.
  6. Return to the application portal (http://applications.unilag.edu.ng) after payment, click ‘’continue application’’, input your payment reference number and your surname in lowercase as password.
  7. Complete all required details and upload necessary documents such as
    — Testimonial (Primary or Secondary)
    — Birth Certificate/Sworn Affidavit that predates the admissions advertisement
    — ‘O’ Level Certificate/All other Qualifications
    — NYSC Certificate/NYSC Exemption Certificate (for Direct Entry candidates)
    — Marriage Certificate and Newspaper classification (Married female only)
  8. Complete the application form, submit it online and print a copy.  (Applicant is allowed to save the application form and later complete the Form in case certain information are not readily available).

CLOSING DATE

All completed application forms are to be submitted on or before 15th December, 2021. There will be NO UTME Examination for Distance Learning Institute, University of Lagos.
