JAMB Sets August 21 Date for Commencement of Tertiary Institutions’ Admission.
The Management of the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed all tertiary institutions in the country to commence the conduct of the first and second choice admission exercise for 2020/2021 academic session from Friday, 21st August.
In a document signed by the JAMB Registrar, Prof Is-haq Oloyede, containing the Board’s guidelines for 2020 admission exercise, the exam body stressed that the Admission-Exercise for the 2020/2021 Academic Session would be conducted only on the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) and no Institution is allowed to publish, announce, exhibit or paste any name(s) of admitted candidate without prior approval of the name on CAPS.
According to the document released on Sunday, all Degree, National Diploma, National Innovation Diploma and the Nigeria Certificate in Education into Full Time, Distance Learning, Part Time, Outreach, Sandwich, etc, must be processed only through the JAMB.
JAMB pointed out that the principal participants in exercise are; the Registrar JAMB; Chairman, Heads of Tertiary Institutions; Director of Admissions (JAMB) Admission Officers of Tertiary Institutions; JAMB Desk Officers; and Candidates.
The Board also directed Institutions interested in conducting any form of screening to do so, but said the gross charge for the screening should not exceed N2,000 only.
