Official Enugu State Teachers’ Recruitment Exercise Application for 2018 Begins.
The Enugu state teachers recruitment form 2018 is now available. The Enugu state teachers recruitment form 2017 has been released. The Government of Enugu State under the Post Primary Schools Management Board, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for Tutorial Staff across the 291 Public Secondary Schools in the state.
Enugu State, also called the Coal-City State or Wawa State, was created vide a military decree on the 27th of August, 1991. The creation of the State by the then military Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida, was as a result of years of agitation, as well as complaints of injustice and marginalization by the Wawa leaders and people.
The vacancies are advertised according to the tutorial staff needs of each school.
Eligibility /Qualifications:
Applicants must possess any of the following qualifications: NCE, B.Ed, in any of the subjects advertised.
Method of Application:
Interested and qualified candidates should submit the following documents below:
- Application letters which must be handwritten.
- Photocopies of certificate claimed
- A letter of identification from the L.GA. of origin.
- All applications must be addressed to “The Executive Chairman Post Primary Schools Management Board Enugu” Candidates are to submit their applications to any of the Education Zones nearest to them, the Education Zones include:
– Agbani Zone at Agbani L.G. Headquarters
– Awgu Zone at Awgu L.G. Headquarters
– Enugu Zone, opposite Shoprite Enugu
– Nsukka Zone at PPSMB Nsukka Office
– Obollo Zone at C.S.S. Obollo-Afor
– Udi Zone at Girls Secondary School Ngwo.
Note:
Applicants are to indicate in their application letters the schools where they want to teach. The school must have a vacancy for the subject to be taught by the applicant.
Successful candidates will only be posted to the schools so indicated in the application letters. Multiple entries are not allowed, otherwise the applicant will be disqualified.
The process beginning with submission of application letters to the final issuance of appointment letter is FREE AND AT NO COST. The State Government shall prosecute any body found receiving or giving any form of gratification with regard to this recruitment.

Historically, Enugu State derives its name from Enugu, the capital city, whose prominence arose as a result of being the first place coal was mined in commercial quantity in Nigeria (1909). It later became the administrative headquarters of Southern and Eastern Provinces (1929), Eastern Region (1954-1967), defunct State of Biafra during the Nigeria civil war (1967-1970), East Central State (1970-1976) and old Anambra State (1976-1991). The State is a public sector driven economy. Thus, the State Government remains the highest single employer of labour, a situation the present administration under the leadership of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi hopes to change soon.
The State has continued to make giant strides that have attracted several international recognitions and awards. One such award was the Most Outstanding Community Policing Command in West Africa for 2014, by the United Arab Emirate (UAE), due to its well organized Neighborhood Watch Programme and effective linkage to the security agencies for effective community policing.
