ANS: With two people, there is one handshake. With three people, there are three handshakes. With four people, there are six handshakes. In general, with n+1 people, the number of handshakes is the sum of the first n consecutive numbers: 1+2+3+…+n. Since this sum is n(n+1)/2, we need to solve the equation n(n+1)/2 = 66. This is the quadratic equation n2+n-132 = 0. Solving for n, we obtain 11 as the answer and deduce that there were 12 people at the party.

For questions 11 to 13, four words or phrases have been underlined in each sentence. Please choose the one word or phrase, which is incorrect in standard written English.

  • I wrote today, I was supposed to write by 9:30 but I arrived there by 8:15 and I took the test, you can take the test at any time, your time starts when you login, it’s 5 sections A to E, 9 questions each, 45 questions for 45 mins, please don’t start with the maths, it will waste your time, I did it last and I was happy I did, I finished before time and was able to go through my maths, you can change an answer even after saving it, the sequence, analogy , fill in the gap, was cheap, the maths require time, the English was more like verbal reasoning, u will read a short sentence and chose options that follow or do not follow, generally it was good, they lifted questions from GMAT, I saw some questions that I studied in GMAT. Just make sure you save your answer, once you save your answer it will take you to the next question, and remember if you decide to change your answer, make sure you save your answer. I wish you all good luck. It’s not difficult, believe in yourself. See you in the next stage…..

    1. Don’t go with your phones and bag cos you won’t be allowed to take them in. Else, you have to pay people around to keep your valuables. Could be dangerous, you know.
    2. You must leave your house very early (like 5:30am or so) cos the traffic on that road will leave you for hours or so. A lady left 6am today, got there 9:55am!
    3. Coming from Port Harcourt? Just tell the driver to stop you at Tap Bust Stop, after Intels. That’s all. It’s by your right hand. Coming from Aba axis, tell the driver to stop you at Tap Bus Stop, before Intels. It’s by your left hand. There’s a T-Junction there.
    4. Take a bike from there (Tap Bust Stop) to the centre at N50, or you just trek. Bike men will use your head by collecting N100! Lol
    5. You sure don’t need to go in suit and tie. Just dress fine, preferably in shirt for guys; ladies know how they dress presentably. I don’t know that. Lol

  • Guys,when are we expecting the aptitude test results?

    Reply
  • the exam was very cheap i must be sincere, all you must beat is time. the exam is divided into five section, you have maths section A that will be all about series just 9 questions, section B Normal english question 9 question section C normal quantitative reasoning e.g profit loss or gain i advice study gmath for this and series also 9 question. section D VERBAL reasoning like TEETH—————DENTIST ETC 9 QUESTION TOO SECTION E is logic eg all boys are men, all women are girls in conclusion some men are girls etc pick your answer 9 question too.
    and as for the past question that led us all here am sure its for the second stage.

    • mr senator, it appeared u were privy to the questions prior to your exam date, on the basis that, the test was as simple as preparing tea, in the manner u boasted about how confoundedly simple it was to u…hmm..am beginning to imagine oooo….i pray God help us to scale through to the next stage

      like u pointed out in ur comment, is there actually a second stage of the aptitude test coz i was expecting that current affairs section was supposed to be included but it was conspicuously left out. are u also privy to this information u raised in your earlier comment

    Go to the venue with ur printout, identity card and must especially CALCULATOR.

    • @ Glory, does it time someone out. that is, if you are unable to finish by that 45 minutes can you still submit? there was one i did at unilag (CBT) once you cannot submit by that 45 minutes, that is the end of the test. if the 45 minutes lapses and you did not submit that is the end. is it like that in this test? Sorry to bother you.

      Reply
      • Please don’t allow the 45mins to elapse before clicking submit oooooooo.

        As the time reach 20sec, submit immediately.

          • please should I keep phone at home or go with it….my center is in PH and am in delta…need ur advise please

        • i just finish with mine. there were 5 sections as the good people of the house has told us. Maths, verbal (analogy), sequence and Series, Logical reasoning and English (fill in the gap).

          Note:
          if you are not too good at maths, dont spend too much time on it. it is 1 minute per question and the maths can take 2 to 3 minutes to solve if you are not too good at it, the verbal analogy is quite fair (not too hard, just brain work), Sequences and series too, if you are good at maths you wont have issues with it. it’s quite relatively easy, the english, you should go and learn how to use the phrase – cast out, cast off, cast away, cast up and cast aside. there are about 4 or 5 questions that have these five options. go and learn how these phrases are used to connect sentence. and logic; for me was cheap but there was no time to reason, so you might fall into the same trap too. just go there and be prepared with these 5 section. Nothing like reading, its all based on your reasoning and past experience. primary school work, etc.

          there was one question i remember in the verbal analogies

          HORN:BULL then the option follows. cant remember.

          the the series too are mosrly in the multiples of 3, one was in 6, one they were adding two numbers to get the net ……. like 1,2,3,5,8; there was another one like this 1,2,3,6,…, i am very sure of this one and the answer was 18.

          the logic looks like this

          if all buses are cows, all cows are trees and all trees are roads(just a sample), then four options will follow
          with one of the option stating all of the above

          that is all i could remember.

          also note that the timimg is at the top of the computer and it will count down to 00. please make sure you submit before the computer time you out cos we dont know the implication of this.

          Cheers!!! and good luck.

          GOD WILL CROWN OUR EFFORT WITH SUCCESS IJN. AMEN

So after answering the whole questions, I discovered that the guy that handled the mouse scrolled to a submit icon which I didn’t notice when I was doing mine. In general, with n+1 people the number of handshakes is sum of the first n consecutive numbers: 1+2+3+4…………..+n.
    since this sum is n(n+1)/2=26 this is quadratic equation
    n^2 +n=66/2
    n^2 +n=33
    solve for n
    3n=33
    n=33/3
    n=11

    obtain 11 as the answer and deduce..

      Once again JKK Building is on Ikorodu Road in Anthony NOT in Ikorodu Area of Lagos……Take Note!!!!

        Thank u… Success to all

        Reply
      • In addition, the JKK building is between Obanikoro Bus stop and Anthony bus stop. If you get down at Obanikoro, you will have to trek forward as if you are going to Anthony and if you get down at Anthony, you will have to trek backwards as if you are coming to Obanikoro.

        The building is very conspicuous. Just like AA said, it is nothing near Ikorodu.

      • you can input the address on google maps, it will show you the place, its at anthony area, you have to turn and go under the bridge area, and walk down to find the place .. go and locate the place a day before

    • Nath, not ikorodu exactly but ikorodu road along Anthony axis…the address is different from ikorodu town close to the outskirt of Lagos…So don’t get d location mixed up….Just want to put us in the right direction
