I went to Unn Pg office, nd pple I met too. I was told dat we hv to generate invoice for payment of school fees and acceptance fee. acceptance fee is 25k, PhD school fees is 129k. but I don’t knw for Msc school fees yet.

Good morning prospective Lions/Lionesses, I just came out from the postgraduate office in UNN Enugu campus and the lady on seat (only person in the office) told me that ; There’s no registration going on now and that SSANU (or whatever) is still on strike but we should probably expect to start the registration from nextweek Monday or Wednesday and it will be done strictly on line. Let’s just pray and hope it starts earlier so we don’t have any difficulties during the session…
Meanwhile any History and international studies prospective student here?
What worries me is that when the school is eventually ready, they will rush us into a crash programme, in order to cover for the delay.
A rushed academic session has adverse effects on academic performance, take Nnamdi Azikiwe University (2004-2010),as an example.
However, we should all use this time to prepare for the challenges ahead- get your credentials, fees, thesis topic ready- I see them rushing everything to our own detriment.
Meanwhile I rep I/O Psychology. Do I have colleagues/partners in crime in that department? Lets link up, communicate and plan ahead.
lecturers strike has no direct relationship with pg admission process because it is not the lecturers that will see to the transactions financially or so. It is the non teaching staff that are more or less on duty to attend to the pg students. I don’t take that as an excuse university of Ibadan has started registration as one is given admission. we only have business with lecturers when it has to do with classroom and other core academic activities. with this issue it now dawns on me that federal institutions are the cause of backwardness in our nation Nigeria. A private firm or institution would have resumed at the stipulated time with full academic activities going on

My Colleagues, prospective Students,
I’m in the UNN Campus and it’s an unfortunate situation we are in here, & the school is not helping out. “REGISTRATION has NOT STARTED and will not start any time soon” paraphrased from an admin officer. I traveled all the way from Benin to get information, but their shabby & indifferent response is unbearably ANNOYING. No school fees available for any course of Study, No date for registration to begin, No welcome attendant to make inquiry.
Some others say the course of the delay is that some lecturers are on strike.
However, the seemingly good news is that “when the school is ready, you’ll get every necessary info you need to get from the portal. You’ll get your school fees amount, you’ll do your registration for lectures and hostels ONLINE, you’ll need to only be in school to start lectures.” This is the information I got from a reliable source.

I also suggest you wait for unn to state their directive. This pg not undergraduate course so I hope the stress will be minimal. Pls someone who has an idea of documents they will require should let us know so we put our selves in order.
UNN INFO, I stay so far away and would travel almost half day 2 get 2 Nsukka. I don’t wanna get there and be unable 2 pay the fees, woould u advise me 2 still make d journey on Sunday against monday? Or wait for more directives from UNN?
Secondly, could we possibly be asked 2 pay Laptop fee at PG level?

I believe there was an issue already on the case of compulsory laptop fee for the undergraduates…..they shouldn’t misbehave anymore as per d amount for PG Fees…..or UNN will be on top o every news

It beats my imagination how UNN Postgraduate Sch would deliberately keep its teeming PG students in the dark. This is an age of information, please let us know what is going on, the way forward, and stuff like…
The very fact that UNN is the nation’s number one varsity (except if I’m being made now to feel that it’s just nominally so) is the reason why she should be a pacesetter in all things. For one, I have been very impressed with the institution’s website but the medium should be put to maximum use by the management for the benefit of patrons. Even if there are good grounds for delay, the hundreds or thousands waiting out there for vital information have a right to an explanation! Prospective students were being serenaded with text messages prior to the screening test. Communication then went practically dead after the test. It is very unjust and discourteous for management to remain silent in the face of this delay! The school isn’t running as a charity, people pay hard earned money to study there! A delay, no matter how little it appears to the one causing it, can cost the one at the receiving end a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! I hate it when I hear people say “this is Nigeria” with reference to negativities! Can’t we just for once shun mediocrity and be effective in organization and execution for a change? Haba!

I think the delay has to do with Treasury Single Account. FG needs more transparency in the management of public ressources. UNIZIK too is yet to communicate on the mode of payment of fees since they released the first batch of PG admissions.

Why is there no information on the PG Admission Process? No School fees, how to pay, where to pay, etc. No information after releasing the Primary Admission List. Can 11th January be realistic????
I don’t think commencing of registration by 11th is realistic, because today remains only 5 days but we still don’t know our directions.
Which way forward UNN. U said we are resuming school on the 11th. How? Nobody is saying anything again. We need to hear from u.
Beware of fake prophets… why is it that no one would say I heard that our acceptance fee is 8k…. We always wish ourselves I’ll luck. May be the management is waiting to hear our own opinions and u have successfully aired out yours. Hope they will not capitalize on that and make us pay above 20k…. Beware….
the day UNN vice chancellor will pronounce 40k for acceptance fee, that would be the end of his stewardship in the school. let him try it, we not only to resist it, but make sure he leaves his tenure prematurely. enough of returning public school to business venture. I believe president buhari will test his leadership on UNN vice chancellor. Mr ozumba should take note and live with the reality.

I just wonder why it’s taking so long to get the supplementary list out considering that registration is so close. The omissions costing some of us now were very avoidable. UNN should be taking responsibility and compensating those affected by expediting action on the supplementary list. I’m hoping this delay isn’t a strategy of denial because it will be so UNJUST to deny me a chance I never lost!

You have to pay all the fees in order to be cleared. On the issue of temporal accommodation, UNN is currently experiencing shortage of bed spaces for already cleared fresh and old students, so you can’t be assured of temporal accommodation when you arrive.
