    • If this information is real then this will discourage most persons awaiting the list. The school authority should release a memo explaining the course of this action. This might put everyone in the know. I mean it shouldn’t take this long.August up till today is a very long period to wait. More so, it is necessary for applicants to know the time frame to enable them plan ahead for the financial aspect involved. Money is not plugged from tree, rather it is been earned. The school authority should look at the prospective students plight and release an official memo in this regard.

D only delay is as a result of d ultimatum given to departments to finish up wt d existing PG students by December irrespective of d yr he/she was admitted into d PG sch. It might interest u to note dat many students, even 2012/2013 session havnt defended their project. The school administrasn is doing all within its reach to salvage d situation, @ least dats d main reason behind d school fees increase last year. They are tidiously working to make it a one year program @ d dot.

  • The doubting ‘Thomases’ that strongly criticized my initial post that both d 1st & d 2nd batches will be pasted together when both are ready, where are they now? If u do not have information, ‘gbaankiti’ (keep silent) and do not make provocative comments against those who have. Although they may change their minds and decide to do otherwise, that was the decision on the ground now. Based on the information, few applicants were addmitted based on transcripts. Perhaps, in order to have a reasonable number as most applicants may be newly graduated students whose transcripts are still under processing, they have to past the two together although likey to be undifferentiated. PG programme is no longer the affairs of old graduants as before. I want to reinterate that the registration may be next year as the old students are yet to conclude their session. As we remain expecting with our fingers crossed, whether you have seen your name or not let’s take this time and think about our thesis topics. I think someone has sometime raised this issue before. Are there any potential Accounting PhD students out there? Let’s talk. Which areas do you think are more promising in terms of researchability-Financial accounting, corporate finance, strategic management or Environmental accounting? Can any one suggest good topics that will be contributing?

  • Cozy I beg to disagree with you. Any person who has an intention of running a pg program with unn and have not submitted his/her transcript is not ready for admission. the primary criteria for becoming a pg student of any University is your transcript so if you did not present it, the school will assume that you are not ready. So the delay is not the transcript.

    Reply
  • I think we need more patience. Information from PG staff indicates that although all departments have submitted first batch of admitted students, the pasting will be after the conclusion of second batch. The information shows that many transcripts have not arrived there. They say that everything will likely be next year.

    Reply
    • Which next year? Stop p eddling unfounded rumours? Why would first list wait for second list? Where is it done? In as much as they have started arranging files for the second batch, that will not stop the first list. Infact, the first list is sealed and ready to be delivered by next week or upper week latest.

My question now is; is UNN retrogressing instead of progressing? If not from d data gathered last year number of applicants wer almost 2× dis year applicants due to d Tuition saga which discouraged many applicants, dis means dat unn have less number of applicants to handle dis yr.

2nd: last yr d school marked d entrance exams manually while dis year it was marked electronically which makes d work much much easier for d school. So going by dis clear reasons d list is supposed to have been released by now.

Did they wait till the 2013/2014 finish before releasing the next list especially as it was affected by long strike.

      • The 2013/2014 calendar was affected by strike. It affected the 2014/2015 calender. Remember that the site for registration of courses was closed two weeks ago. I don’t think the list will be out this month. They school authority are trying to balance the PG calender. All the same let’s keep our fingers crossed.

    • Guys pls stop posting comments without proper info, u can’t just come and air ur view here wen it’s supposed to be an information ok? If ur not sure u just let us knw ur presuming. Everyone dat was invited for d exams already had their credentials and transcripts examined, and d text was anoda way of saying we don’t wanna rely on any transcript from various schools with varying level of educational excellence, hence d need for a self set test dat will help determine y a student from school A with a 2:1 might not be as brilliant as anoda student from school B with a 2:2; the admission will almost accommodate everyone judging from the number of students dat were admitted last year, so pls let know one mislead u, just have faith and I bet you the list will be out soonest.

      • Engr. You are misleading people. The aptitude test was for every applicant. If your transcript didn’t get to PG school, whatever ur score maybe be, there won’t be admission for u. It is beta you go to the PG school and confirm if your transcript has arrived. Criteria for PG admission: 1. CGP 2. Transcript 3. Aptitude test. 4. Availability of supervisor.

        • Hey Mr (no name), I dunno what you think, but this is not a personal forum, if ur commenting pls don’t redirect it to a particular person, u are free to air ur view, weda stupid or insane…só u actually want everyone to believe that you are more sensible than the director of the PG school who stated that your application will not be processed without receipt of all necessary documentation? That even if I had a PASS and I just applied I’d be invited for the test? Are u just talking or u have a crude and unrealistic source? Well, I don’t think you meet any of the criteria for the admission dan myself, just dat empty vessels make d loudest noise, and some people like ursef, wants others to feel less for no just cause, am telling u again, and u can go and ask before writing ur next comment, if anyone was invited for the test, that person had met all the criteria not just bcos they bought the forms, ok? You can go back to the conditions for qualifications that were well outlined during the sales of the forms, and include ur identity.

I reasoned that by now the application documents would have been distributed to departments for consideration and recommendations. please somebody with info on the true state of things should respond. I still think that the school is already running behind schedule or maybe things are not exactly the way we initially thought they are in UNN.

  • Gaining a postgraduate admission is not what you just do by the wave of a magic wand. So many logistics, indices and parameters have to be considered. First and most paramount is the TRANSCRIPT. It is a prerequisite to other things like the screening scores, O’level, referee form, etc. DO YOUR PART AND LEAVE THE REST TO GOD.

    Reply
  • It is quite unfortunate u did not attach a name I cud refer to u as. LISTEN VERY WELL IF TRULY YOU ARE IN FOR BUSINESS.
SUBMITTING A TRANSCRIPT TO UNN IS ONE THING. ALSO, SUBMITTING A TRANSCRIPT TO UNEC IS PRETTY MUCH ANOTHER THING.
FIRST OF ALL, IF YOUR FACULTY OR DEPARTMENT IS AT UNN AND YOUR TRANSCRIPT WAS DELIVERED TO UNEC IS SOMEWHAT A PROBLEM AND VICE VERSA.

THE ONLY THING YOU NEED DO NOW IS TO QUIETLY GO TO UR UNIVERSITY, TELL THOSE IN CHARGE THAT UR TRANSCRIPT IS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND IN YOUR FILES AND YOU HAVE NO MUCH TIME LEFT. REQUEST FOR A COPY OF YOUR TRANSCRIPT SINCE YOU HAVE PAID FOR IT, IF YOU CAN’T GO TO YOUR SCHOOL, SEEK THE HELP OF ANY OF THE STAFF THERE TO SCAN AND SEND IT TO YOUR EMAIL. IMMEDIATELY U GO AND PRINT IT OUT IN A COLOURED FORM IF POSSIBLE AND TAKE IT BY YOUR SELF, WITH YOURSELF AND FOR YOURSELF TO THE PG OFFICE WHERE YOUR FACULTY OR DEPARTMENT IS LOCATED.
TRANSCRIPTS ARE NOT MEANT TO BE DELIVERED ANY HOW. THAT ALONE IS FAR IMPORTANT THAN ANY DOCUMENTS WE SUBMITTED.
IF YOU WANT SOMETHING TO BE DONE WELL, DO IT YOURSELF.

    GOD HELP US ALL.

It is quiet an apt quote for the situation. it is like planning wholeheartedly for the wedding feast while what will sustain the marriage is shoved aside. I think the most important thing is to secure the admission. That test was just a transition mechanism. i wonder what will happen when the actual studies starts if this mindset rage on.

  • I’ve been following posts here since and its not very different from what I encountered online 2years ago. No statement here is final and all we need is admission. If 30% can access what 100% can, then lets just go on with our business. If having 100% were a criteria for being a truly successful person, some of us wouldn’t have applied for postgraduate studies. Let’s learn to tolerate others WHILE MAINTAINING OUR INDIHIDUALLY UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS.

  • it was quite unfortunate what happened to the engineering students during the exam. But I found the instructions given by the PG school rather incomplete and decided to go to the exam with a calculator. As an engineering student I can’t possibly imagine an exam without calculations. The Pg school was very wrong not to specify the use of calculators where required, but to a much lower extent in this case, it is important to take the initiative when things seem amiss. There were some people who went to the venue with their credentials even though they weren’t required to. At first I found it funny but I quickly realised that they were only being prepared for any eventuality. Either way though, it is likely that the affected faculties will take the unfortunate circumstances into consideration since the students are not culpable. And hopefully next year the Pg school will provide candidates with clearer instructions.

People are out there praying to gain admission with their respective low score and someone is here telling me that 40% is awkward. it seems u don’t really know the meaning of that I guessed? u James telling someone not to act like a fool, u are already acting like one because u concluded ur logistic without a good premise. what a shame!

  • 40% as a general cut off is not a bad idea. It all depends on the general performance. Lets pray and hope that all that applied gain admission because that u scored 99/100 doesn’t mean u are more educated or more intelligent. Mind you, departments differs. Those that set d questions are different. so please don’t discriminate those that scored low scores, it doesn’t mean they are not intelligent. Some departments were seriously posed with complicated calculation questions and calculator was not allowed in the exam hall. So don’t compare yourself with anyone. I REPRESENT BANKING AND FINANCE AND I SCORED 50% AND AM VERY MUCH COMFORTABLE WITH IT. I BLESS GOD FOR BLESSING MY EFFORTS.

@ Olawale, though u gave ur opinion that 40% as cut off is awkward because u must have scored above that. See ursef scoring just 40 on d dot and u were told cut off is 40, how will u feel?

please house how do I verify whether or no my transcript had been received at the PG school office. I will be very grateful if any kind hearted person can help me out with that. Thanks to every individual that has been contributing in giving out information on this forum. God us all.

    • ■ I am sorry if you get to see my previous post. It wasn’t meant for you.

      ■ I applied for PGD health economics, management and policy. The questions for us, I learned were centrally set and they were skewed. Over ninety percent of them were drawn from business management and some centered on public relations.

      ■ This was not in-keeping with the previous years I believe as questions then were from GMAT quantitative and verbal reasoning.

      I hope that helps!

    • I sat for Electrical engineering and the questions were core-based. Transformer basics, some circuit analysis, I remember one power electronics question, a little physics and lots of mathematics ( manipulation of algebraic equations, binary operations, some word problems). Overall it was an interesting exam. I can’t say what core questions Electronic Engineering students answered but I do know the mathematics questions were the same across all the engineering departments

  • Please who among us in this forum knows the cut off mark for M.Eng Mechanical Engineering and when the admission list will be out ?. I’ve checked my result with a score of 40 marks and wish to know if my admission is possible. I also wish to draw the attention of the PG School that we in Engineering were ask not to come with calculators only to be told in the exams hall that we needed calculators to confront the turbulence in the questions set for us in Engineering, creating an off set in our mind set and in an attempt to restore equilibrium, we were ask to make use of our GSM (market women) calculators . Hence the need to please drop the cut off mark for Engineering. Thanks.

I believe the coming week will let us know what’s up.but transcripts is the most important. since 3 batches would be released then a lot of things are involved in the admission process.1. your score 2. your transcripts 3. availability of supervisors for your course of study. if you have less supervisors then less people been admitted to that area of specialization. so let’s hope on God to see us through

    • There is know problem for those who score below 50%. It all depend on ur dept cut off mark, the higher number of applicant the higher the cut off mark. Secondly, ur transcript.

This is extortion and very inconvenient for those staying far away from Enugu. Now they are saying you have to pay and start calling somebody to send you a recharge card. This is an after thought by the schools management to extort applicants. Who knows whether they would not start selling recharge cards for lectures? Very BAD, period

  • This idea of paying #1000 to check PG result doesn’t make sense. The PG Sch should have made an extra charge of #1000 (cost of scratch card) during PG screening exams or even at the point of application so that once the result is out, one can use his application number and get his result any in the country. Who doesn’t want to see the result of exam he/she sat for?
But now as far off as Kaduna, one begins to think on how to get the s/card.
As it is now, the process is wrought with hitches.
