{"id":45840,"date":"2020-07-10T22:55:34","date_gmt":"2020-07-10T21:55:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/unn-edu.info\/?p=45840"},"modified":"2020-07-10T22:55:34","modified_gmt":"2020-07-10T21:55:34","slug":"federal-government-commence-steps-to-resolve-ippis-payment-crisis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unn-edu.info\/2020\/07\/federal-government-commence-steps-to-resolve-ippis-payment-crisis.html","title":{"rendered":"Federal Government Commence Steps to Resolve IPPIS Payment Crisis"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">FG Commence Steps to Resolve IPPIS Payment Crisis.<\/h2>\n<p>The Federal Government (FG) has taken steps to address all issues surrounding the implementation of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).<\/p>\n<p>This was disclosed by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, last week.<\/p>\n<p>The minister said that government has directed bursars of Universities to compile all challenges associated with payment of salaries through the IPPIS platform with a view to addressing them.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-34524 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/unn-edu.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/chris-ngige-picture.png\" alt=\"chris-ngige-picture\" width=\"500\" height=\"292\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He said the federal government plans to apply for a special pass from the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 to hold a physical meeting with the unions to discuss all contentious issues. The Joint Action Committee (JAC) comprised of Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities and Associated Institutions (NASU).<\/p>\n<p>Ngige, however, said the government did not need to call a meeting before it paid members their full salaries and release their payment slips.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that the Samson Ugwoke-led JAC had issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Federal Government to correct all problems associated with payment of salary through the IPPIS platform and release their earned allowances before the easing of the lockdown, threatening that members would not resume duty when schools resume.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister reaffirmed the FG effort to correct the problem.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"&hellip;
