The Federal University of Technology Akure\u00a0(FUTA) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the School of Postgraduate\u00a0Studies\u00a0for the 2018\/2019 academic session.<\/p>\n
Application forms will be available for completion for Six weeks beginning from Monday 8th October, 2018 and closes on Monday 19th November, 2018.<\/p>\n
AVAILABLE RGRAMMES<\/strong><\/p>\n Visit the University website on www.futa.edu.ng<\/span> to see details of courses available.<\/p>\n ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n (i) Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) DURATION OF PROGRAMMES<\/strong><\/p>\n (i) Postgraduate Diploma Programmes (PGD) Note: Applicants are no longer required to\u00a0present O\u2019Level results for postgraduate\u00a0admissions<\/p>\n METHODS OF APPLICATION<\/strong><\/p>\n Candidates should process their\u00a0application on-line at the University\u2019s\u00a0website (http\/\/www.futa.edu.ng<\/span>),\u00a0using the e-tranzact\u00a0method with payment made to the\u00a0School of Postgraduate Studies account.
\n(a) A first degree in the relevant\u00a0discipline.
\n(b) Higher National Diploma (HND) of\u00a0at least Lower Credit level or its\u00a0equivalent in the relevant or related\u00a0discipline.
\n(c) Professional qualifications acceptable\u00a0in the University, such as ACA, AIB,\u00a0ACCA, ACIS, or equivalent for the\u00a0Postgraduate Diploma in Computer\u00a0Science only.
\n(ii) Master of Agric. Technology \/ Master of\u00a0Engineering \/ Master of Technology
\n(M. Agric. Tech.\/M. Eng.\/M. Tech.)
\n(a) A good Bachelors degree of at least\u00a0Second Class Lower Division of The\u00a0Federal University of Technology, Akure,\u00a0in the appropriate discipline.
\n(b) A good Bachelors degree from other\u00a0recognized Universities, in the appropriate\u00a0discipline.
\n(c) Higher National Diploma of at least\u00a0Lower Credit level and in addition, the\u00a0candidate must have a Postgraduate\u00a0Diploma (at Upper Credit level) in the\u00a0appropriate discipline.
\n(iii) Master of Philosophy (M. Phil.)\u00a0For M. Phil. in advertised discipline, a\u00a0good M. Tech. degree or equivalent is\u00a0required in the relevant discipline.
\n(iv) Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D)
\n(a) A good Masters degree in the appropriate\u00a0discipline with a CGPA of 3.50 and\/or 60%\u00a0minimum average score.
\n(b) Any other qualification approved by Senate.<\/p>\n
\n(a) Full-Time students shall normally spend\u00a0between twelve (18) and twenty-four (24)\u00a0months.
\n(b) Part-Time students shall normally spend\u00a0between eighteen (18) and thirty-six (36)\u00a0months.
\n(ii) Masters Programmes\u00a0M. Agric. Tech.\/M. Eng.\/M. Tech.\/ Professional\u00a0Students shall normally be required to spend\u00a0between eighteen (18) and twenty-four (24)\u00a0months.
\n(iii) M. Phil. Programme
\n(a) Students shall normally be required to\u00a0spend between eighteen (18) and twentyfour\u00a0(24) months.
\n(b) A candidate may transfer from M. Phil.\u00a0to Ph.D programme after completing the\u00a0course-work and fulfilling all other\u00a0approved requirements.
\n(iv) Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D) Programme
\n(a) Full-Time candidates may defend their\u00a0theses between thirty-six (36) and sixty\u00a0(60) months.
\n(b) Part-Time candidates may defend their\u00a0theses between forty-eight (48) and\u00a0seventy-two (72) months.<\/p>\n
\nApplication forms for postgraduate\u00a0programmes are sold for N25,000.00\u00a0(Ph. D), N22,500.00 (Masters), and\u00a0N20,000.00 (PGD) only
