The Man Oron Post UTME 2019 application portal opens on 1st August 2019. The Management of Maritime Academy of Nigeria hereby invites candidates who sat for the 2019\/2020 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, choose the Academy as their First(1st) Choice Institution and score above the required cut-off Mark for POST UTME into various National Diploma (ND) programmes of the Academy for the 2019\/2020 Academic Session.<\/p>\n
The duration of National Diploma (ND) programmes is two (2) years, divided into four (4) semesters. The following programmes are on offer:
\n1. Nautical Science
\n2. Marine Engineering
\n3. Electrical\/Electronic Engineering
\n4. Maritime Transport and Business Studies.<\/p>\n
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS<\/strong> Applicants are required to possess the following: Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent and JAMB subject Combination 6.\u00a0Marital Status 7.\u00a0Age Limit for Each Programme
\nCandidates seeking admission into the Academy must have a functional and accessible electronic mail address (E-mail) and mobile phone number.<\/p>\n
\n1. A minimum of 180 marks in the 2019\/2020 UTME for:
\na)\u00a0 Nautical Science
\nb)\u00a0 Marine Engineering and
\nc)\u00a0 Electrical\/Electronics Engineering
\n2. A minimum of 160 marks in the 2019\/2020 UTME for:
\na) Maritime Transport and Business Studies.
\n3. A minimum of five (5) credit passes in Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent obtained in not more than two sittings within the LAST FIVE YEARS in relevant subjects.
\n4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Applicant MUST have the correct JAMB subject combinations for each course of Interest.<\/p>\n
\nA. Nautical Science:
\nFive (5) credit passes at Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent in the following subjects:English Language
\nMathematics
\nGeography
\nPhysics and any other relevant Science subjects obtained at\u00a0NOT MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS.

\nB. Marine Engineering
\nFive (5) credit passes at Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry any other relevant Science subjects

\nC. Electrical\/ Electronic Engineering
\nFive (5) credit passes at Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry any other relevant Science subjects

\nE. Maritime Transport and Business Studies
\nFive (5) credit passes at Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Economics \/Commerce and any two relevant subjects from Government, Principles of Account.

\n5.\u00a0Physical and Medical Fitness
\nDue to the peculiar requirements of the Institution and the maritime industry as well as international convention (STCW) 95 as amended in 2010 which mandates all sea men to be physically and mentally fit to work in the maritime industry, all applicants are expected to be physically and mentally fit to be able to withstand the rigours\/challenges of the cadetship training<\/p>\n
\nApplicants must be single and shall remain single throughout the duration of the programme.<\/p>\n
\n– Candidates applying for Nautical Science, Electrical\/Electronic Engineering and Marine Engineering must be between the ages of 16 and 21 as at the time of commencement of the programme
\n–\u00a0Candidates applying for\u00a0Maritime Transport and Business Studies\u00a0must be between the ages of 16 and 25 as at the time of commencement of the programme.<\/p>\n
