{"id":36727,"date":"2017-04-04T03:20:23","date_gmt":"2017-04-04T02:20:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/unn-edu.info\/?p=36727"},"modified":"2017-04-04T11:35:40","modified_gmt":"2017-04-04T10:35:40","slug":"jamb-direct-entry-candidates-will-write-aptitude-test-not-utme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unn-edu.info\/2017\/04\/jamb-direct-entry-candidates-will-write-aptitude-test-not-utme.html","title":{"rendered":"JAMB Direct Entry Candidates Will Write Aptitude Test Not UTME"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #008000;\">JAMB Direct Entry Candidates Will Write Aptitude Test\u00a0This Year.<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB says that Direct Entry, DE candidates will not write the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, rather they will sit for a school-based aptitude test.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Media officer and Director of Protocol at JAMB, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, who made this disclosure said that the aptitude test will be conducted by various universities nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>He said, &#8220;Direct Entry candidates will attempt an aptitude test which is school-based. They are not sitting for the UTME. The test is from the universities. The new book we introduced will be used by Direct Entry candidates for the aptitude tests that will be conducted by the universities.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The JAMB\u00a0official\u00a0expressed confidence that despite the hitches in the registration process being witnessed across the country, all 1.5m candidates expected to register for the 2017 UTME would be registered by the April 19 deadline.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have noted this precedent and we have introduced Remita and Interswitch to ease registration. This is in addition to more than 17 banks that are registering candidates. We used to have three banks in the past.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe registered 600,000 candidates in 10 days and if we go on at this pace, it means we would have registered 1.2million in 20 days.
