Please is anyone applying for PhD here? I have questions on the application, the applicaiton said 180 words in your field of study which I provided but when I printed my Referee form the question changed to Special Topic within field of study!!!!! Meaning I was supposed to have discussed my research topic briefly not just field of study. I am so worried and wondering if it will affect my application, also how do I contact support to get this changed?

    Reply
    • Quicky go to the school, meet the ICT unit. Lay your complaint and give them your RRR no. They will open ur page for corrections after 24hrs. Effect ur correction and den submit. I had same issue though mine is msc. And that’s how i corrected mine and submitted. Have submitted my forms too to the skul.

    • I applied for PhD, the 180 words is why you chose your field of study and not your project proposal..pls I stand to be corrected.. As for me , I wrote on why I chose my field of study n that’s what I understand as motivation letter..

      Reply
      • Yes that’s what it means. I thought she said she issue with wat she wrote in the 180 words. But if it’s the field of study, then leave it that way. Your on the right track

          • No kings you didn’t read it well, it means to graduate in doctoral degree, you need to have an accepted article in an international journal, the period between getting accepted and published can take 9 months, the University just wants to know your dissertation was at least accepted before they award you your degree. In conclusion it refers to graduation, please let’s connect pls pls, seems we don’t have many PhD applicants here

      • No kings, I know what am saying, have you completed your application? I mean printed out your form after all referees have responded? When you print it out you will discover that the question changed to what I Stated,

      3. Ur nxt step is to wait wen u get an information or a complain concerning ur referees wen u log in wif ur RRR number, den u print out ur referee forms alongside wif other documents as displayed. Enclose Al ur credentials in an envelope and submit as instructed.

I had same feelings too while registering. But u guys need to calm down and follow the instructions carefully. Remember to inform whoever you chose as your referees to download the form he/she will receive online so you will have a hard copy that will be filled manually. Then, your referees can now go ahead; fill and submit online, since u already have the hard copy of each of your referees. This is because, the copies of this referee form will be enclosed in an envelope. Ask questions, if you are still confuse for more clarification.

        • Tonia, the truth is I made same mistake as you did and I sent an email to ICT to see if I can get another refree form to fill manually but I was told to submit other documents since the one online will still get to the PG schools. So I had no option than to submit without the referee form. I submitted all my credentials,i.e primary Sch certificate, secondary School result, and university statement of result Cox my original isn’t ready for now. My nysc photocopied certificate and the three printed copy from my postgraduate wall. These were the documents I enclosed in the file jacket and I glued d form D3 on both the white file and on d brown envelope. That’s the final process till the screening test date. If your referees did not download before submitting online, don’t kill yourselves, just submit the rest documents.

  • Bobby so are u saying that those of us that graduated from unn will apply online so that ict unit can send it to school of pg

    Reply
  • Chichi, everything now is online, your transcript is ready, all u need is to apply online, then ICT unit will send a copy to SPGS, for 15k, if u want your own copy, then you will be charged twice. As for downloading and attaching your transcript, I think is mainly for graduates from other universities. Ict unit will send a copy to “the secretary PG school, ( for Unn graduates) and the transcript should arrive at PG school two weeks before your form arrives. So apply for your transcript on time, goodluck dear.

  • @chichi, well it can’t be as the same as that offered in Community Medicine because you will have to face some courses such as PUH 820 Medical statistics 1,puh 838 medical Microbiology etc, which are not under the faculty of Education. So just go for MPH in Community Medicine.

  • @Chris no deadline has been set. But application is usually open for two months or there about. Supplementary or extension may be apply but early application is better.

  • @Segun, pass is third class and according to the advert you are eligible to apply for PGD unless your department state otherwise vis-a-vis the requirements. However, you must have a good score in the qualifying exam to stand a better chance.

  • @Cornelus, you may apply if your CGPA and O’level meets stipulated criteria. NYSC and other credentials are required only during screening after gaining admission.

      • It’s advisable you buy the form. it’s no biggie. Admission list won’t be out until Nov/Dec. What you need as criteria for admission is your transcript. You can bring your NYSC certificate during admission clearance for verification. Waiting till next year is not ideal.
