How to apply for the frsc recruitment 2020. TheFederal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) of Nigeria has announced the opening of application portal for the 2020 recruitment exercise of officers into the commission.

FRSC Application Requirements:

Before you start your application process, it is advisable that you go through the following requirements list to know what you will need to complete your application successfully.

(1) RMA Cadre;
a. Road Marshal Assistant II
Qualifications Minimum of five (5) credits in SSCE (WAEC/ NECO) or NABTEB, two of the subjects must be English Language and Mathematics.

b. Road Marshal Assistant III
Qualifications Minimum of three (3) credits in SSCE (WAEC /NECO) or NABTEB, one of the credits must be in English Language.

Artisans and Tradesmen
Artisans and Tradesmen may apply under this category. Those applying for the posts of Computer Operators, Drivers, Mechanics, Motorcycle Riders, Electricians, Instrumentalists, Tailors, Plumbers, etc must possess the following:
i. A minimum of 4 passes in SSCE (WAEC /NECO) or NABTEB.
ii. Trade Test and or other professional Certificates.
iii. Drivers and Riders must have the appropriate class of Driver’s Licence.

(2) MI Cadre;
a. Marshal Inspector I
Qualifications;
Candidates must possess the following:i. Higher National Diploma (HND) in relevant disciplines.
ii. NYSC Discharge Certificate.
iii. Statement of Result not beyond 5 years.

b. Marshal Inspector II
Qualifications;
Candidates must possess the following:i. Nigerian Certificate of Education (NCE) in relevant disciplines.
ii. Registered Nurse/ Midwife (RN/RM).
iii. Statement of Result not beyond 5 years.

c. Marshal Inspector III
Qualifications;
Candidates must possess the following:i. National Diploma (ND) in relevant disciplines.
ii. National Diploma in Community Health Extension Work.
iii. Statement of Result not beyond 5 years.

(3) Officer Cadre;
Qualification;
Candidates must possess the following:
i. Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution of higher learning in any of the following disciplines; Law, Medicine, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Laboratory Science, Psychology, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Insurance/ Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Information and Communication Technology, Physical and Health Education, Accounting, Management Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Mass Communication, Social Sciences and Humanities.
ii. NYSC Discharge Certificate.

(4) Officer (MBBS) Cadre;
Qualification:
Candidates must possess the following:
i. Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution of higher learning in Medicine
ii. NYSC Discharge Certificate.

About FRSC: The Federal Government created the Federal Road Safety Commission through Decree No. 45 of the 1988 as amended by Decree 35 of 1992 referred to in the statute books as the FRSC Act cap 141 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria (LFN).

In particular the Commission is charged with the responsibilities for:

  1. Preventing or minimizing accidents on the highway;
  2. Clearing obstructions on any part of the highways;
  3. Educating drivers, motorists  and other members of the public generally on the proper use of the highways;
  4. Designing and producing the driver’s license to be used by various categories of vehicle operators;
  5. Determining, from time to time, the requirements to be satisfied by an applicant for a driver’s licence;
  6. Designing and producing vehicle number plates
  7. The standardization of highway traffic codes;
  8. Giving prompt attention and care to victims of accidents
  9. Conducting researches into causes of motor accidents and methods of preventing them and putting into use the result of such researches;
  10. Determining and enforcing speed limits for all categories of roads and vehicles and controlling the use of speed limiting devices;
  11. Cooperating with bodies or agencies or groups in road safety activities or in prevention of accidents on the highways;
  12. Making regulations in pursuance of any of the functions assigned to the Corps by or under this Act;
  13. Regulating the use of sirens, flashers and beacon lights on vehicles other than ambulances and vehicles belonging to the Armed Forces, Nigeria Police, Fire Service and other Para-military agencies;
  14. Providing roadside and mobile clinics for the treatment of accident victims free of charge;
  15. Regulating the use of mobile phones by motorists;
  16. Regulating the use of seat belts and other safety devices;
  17. Regulating the use of motorcycles on the highway;
  18. Maintaining the validity period for drivers’ licences which shall be three years subject to renewal at the;
  19. expiration of the validity period; and

In exercise of the functions, members of the Commission shall have power to arrest and prosecute persons reasonably suspected of having committed any traffic offence.
